Welcome To The 2012 St. Anthony Softball Season
The St. Anthony Booster Program offers Instructional, Slowpitch and League Softball for players who reside in St. Anthony or attend school in the St. Anthony-New Brighton School District.
The softball program provides girls the opportunity to experience various levels of competition to ensure their success.
Instructional Softball is offered for girls in grades K-2. The focus is learning the fundamental skills of the game and working up to game play.
Slowpitch Softball is offered for girls in grades 3-4. The focus is learning the game of softball and developing fundamentals as they transition to fastpitch.
Fastpitch softball involves more games, practices and a greater commitment from the athlete. This is an opportunity for girls who like to play the game, learn new skills and take their game to the next level. St. Anthony will offer teams in the age category of 10U, 12U and 14U for traveling softball. Unlike younger teams, which are formed largely by school grade, fastpitch teams follow league rules to select by the age of the player. A player's age on 12/31/11 determines the age division in which they are eligible to participate. For example: 10U=ages 10 and under as of 12/31/11, 12U=ages 12 and under as of 12/31/11 and 14U=ages 14 and under as of 12/31/11.
Online registration for fastpitch will be from January 16-February 17, 2012. Online Registration for Instructional and Slowpitch will be from January 16-March 2, 2012. All online registrations will require payment by credit card. Fees are as follows: Instructional: $60.00, Slowpitch: $95.00, Fastpitch: $160.00. Please click on the "Registration" link to register online. Paper or walk up registration will not be conducted---only online registration will be provided. Registrations received after the deadline will be placed on a waiting list if rosters are full.
The St. Anthony Softball President will partner with the St. Anthony High School Varsity Softball Coach and staff to evaluate players and form teams. Tryouts may be necessary based on the registrations received per division level. Tryouts are scheduled for Saturday, March 3 and March 10, 2012 from 2-5pm. Parents and players will be notified of specific times based on the tryout group the player is assigned.
Within the aforementioned and League guidelines, teams will be formed according to age, grade, ability and program needs.
